All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

The Bible is the Word of God. It is our instruction manual for Christian living. It gives us direction and because it "is alive and powerful" it transforms us from the inside out. When we pray, it's always good to have the Bible open, because Jesus will speak to our hearts through His Word and in prayer.

I would encourage you to read the book of John in the New Testament. It is one of the gospels that shares the journey of Jesus while He was here on earth.

Prayer is our two-way communication with Jesus that builds our relationship with Him. When we pray to the Lord, He listens and responds to us. Just like a human friendship, Jesus wants us to speak with Him and He wants to speak to us. He does this by whispering into our inner Spirit. Jesus wants a friendship with you and that happens through prayer.
